So what is Freeview, or Freeview plus even?
Quite simply, Freeview and Freeview+ channels are a great line up of channels that have been around for a while now and they are free!
Freeview gives you great TV for free with no strings attached. All you need is a digital set top box and possibly a digital aerial, to receive around 48 TV channels and 24 Radio channels including the normal ones you’re used to. There’s no monthly subscription, just a one off payment for a set-top box or most new televisions come with built in freeview.
The PVR9300T is now Humax’s top of the range Freeview + Recorder, succeeding the well-regarded 9200 and still managing to keep the price comfortably sub £200. It builds on the features of the PVR9150T, adding a larger capacity 320Gb hard drive, giving space for up to 200 hours of recording (that’s a more episodes of Coronation Street and East Enders than anyone can bare to watch, surely?) and boasting HDMI upscaling to 720p. While this is no substitute for proper HD television broadcasts, it will certainly get as much out of your HD TV as is possible without an HD service. That said, you will need an HDMI cable which isn’t provided in the box.
